  • High School PE Teacher w/ Possible Coaching

    Iola ISD is seeking an Secondary Physical Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. 

    Job Duties & Requirements:
    • Set up equipment prior to class.
    • Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social,
    and emotional development of students.
    • Prepare and implement lessons plans, providing for appropriate learning experiences for each student.
    • Establish and enforce rules of conduct; supervise students in the gymnasium and cafeteria, or outside on the blacktop or athletic fields.
    • Demonstrate skills being taught; assist students in performing skills.

  • Coach: Head baseball & Asst. Football

    Iola ISD is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable head baseball coach and football assistant coach. Coordinator position is possible with the right fit. The coach will also have to be JH basketball assistant. Iola is located 35 minutes southeast of College Station. We are a 2A school with wonderful leadership and community support. Must be willing to instill discipline and hold our students accountable not only in athletics, but in the classroom. A head coach is expected to be responsible for all aspects of their program. They are expected to contribute and buy in to the boy’s athletic program.  Must have or be willing to obtain a CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements. Teaching field is OPEN.

    Primary Purpose:
    Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

    Qualifications:
    Education/Certification:
    • Bachelor's degree from accredited university

    • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:
    Instructional Strategies:
    • Develop and implement lesson plans that facilitate requirements of the district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.

    • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policy, and administrative regulations.

  • Secondary Special Education Teacher

    The teacher may tailor lessons to an individual student's needs or assist students with especially challenging assignments. The position may also require the individual to monitor and record a student's progress or behavior in an effort to better meet a student's needs.  The individual may also work closely with the teachers to prepare lesson plans that best fit the needs of their students. The Special Education Teacher may also attend classes for identified students to help them better understand the content in which they are expected to learn, to stay on task, and to complete assignments.

    This individual will be responsible for documentation, filing, and appropriate paperwork, while working closely with the SpEd Coop.

    The entry level maintenance person will be required to perform tasks associated with the upkeep of the school district buildings, grounds, and equipment.  The duties will include electrical, plumbing, painting, grounds maintenance, heavy lifting, carpentry, machinery operations, and any other duties needed for the betterment of the district.  Employees at this level are expected to perform minor repairs and improvements in a variety of trades under the direction of a skilled maintenance department employee or the Maintenance Director.

    Employee must have a current Texas driver's license, obtain a CDL within 90 days of hire, pass a drug test, and background check.
